gair rhydd would like to apologise for any offence caused by the image in last week’s TV section accompanying the programme Hands on Nature.
The image is in no way representative of the standards we aspire to at gair rhydd, and we regret its publication.

Oh come on, it was a joke. People are far too uptight if you have to apologise about something like this.

Agreed, personally i found the anti-contraception dogma and pro-creationist trash in GR far more offensive than a photo.

The difference being that those are opinions put forth by contributors while the photo was chosen by an editor.
But yes, I think people have been a bit uptight about it.

I don’t call it uptight. Some people like the sanctity that was once our minds. Some people don’t want images of dogs having sex with girls in their minds all day, just because they dared to read the paper. It’s called respect. That’s all.
Furthermore, this is not the first time gair rhydd has had to apologize. It’s a very superficial apology if you continue to make the same mistake.

This sort of thing is EXACTLY why Gr needs assistance from an Oversight Student Democracy Committee. its just not on to keep doing this sort of thing.

Tiffany, I don’t particularly want images of bestiality floating round my head all day either, fortunately, as a normal human being, I can simply decide to think about something else. I usually find if I’m always thinking about a certain something it’s because I want it.
All that aside, legally speaking, it’s probably not a good idea to print even a smidgen of hardcore pornography that portrays a sexual act contrary to the Sexual Offences Act in a free paper that is available, though not intended for, minors and the general public.
