This week’s Politics and Environment Special sheds light on the environmental issues at a national and local level.
The repeated message that comes through in all the headlines is that everyone should ‘do their bit’. So here is a brief of some of the initiatives gair rhydd are employing to cut down energy consumption.
We have reduced the amount of copies printed each week to reduce waste. The newspapers that are left over at the end of each week are all recycled.
This year we will be making a concerted effort to promote www.gairrhydd.com. Our website hosts every single article that goes into the newspaper and sometimes contains extra articles.
In the past, the gair rhydd office has wasted a great deal of energy. Now, all of our computers are automatically scheduled to shut down at the end of the day and everyone is encouraged to shutdown their computer when they finish. To cut down on printing all computers now have specific print presets which mean less paper is wasted. Special efforts are also being made to recycle paper and cans.
