Rubber duck takes a dive · Issue 863

While the Great Hall was buzzing with life last Wednesday as the ales flowed, Solus kept its doors closed and Rubber Duck was cancelled.

The new clubs that have opened in the city centre have been stiff competition for Rubber Duck. Wednesday nights in Solus used to be sell-out nights as the BUSA and IMG teams came out in full force after an afternoon of matches. The sense of team spirit (and team rivalry) was the essence of Rubber Duck, and it is a shame to see that spirit fade.

The Students’ Union is acting in a very positive way as they are currently inviting feedback from students about what they want to see in Solus on a Wednesday. With students coming together to work on a new and improved club night, the outcome should be something that revives the spirit for which Rubber Duck was once renowned.
